Main movie news today:
1. American Pie Reunion is shaping up with the signing up of Jason Biggs (Jim), Eugene Levy (Jim's Dad) and Sean William Scott (Stifler) already confirmed.
Also in talks to return are the other characters from the original threequel Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge.
Excluding the let's-not-mention-the-terrible-straight-to-DVD-abominations, this will be the franchises fourth outing with the original cast members.
2. Zack Synder's Man Of Steel is gaining momentum with the release of Henry Caville stepping into the blue tights. Also announced is Kevin Costner as the adoptive Dad Jonathan Kent (the human father who raised Super Boy).
Synder has announced that this new Super flic will be a complete reboot of what we're used to in the Superman franchise, starting from scratch and ignoring it's predecessors. Fans of the Man of Steel may find this worrying, but with Synder already having his dark adaption of Watchmen under his belt and Christopher Nolan producing, one can't help but be curious at this Batman Begins take on things!
3. Speaking of Nolan, Dark Knight Rises news is abundant. This final chapter in the Batman reboot is going back to basics with characters like Cat Woman and Bane making an appearance, not to mention Joseph Gordon Levitt being brought in as Alberto Falcone (son of mob boss Carmine Falcone, played by Tom Wilkinson in Batman Begins).
Epic.
4. For Twi-shite fans out there, Bobert Pattinson has revealed that he has filmed the scene where he performs a vampire caesarean on his wife Bella, cutting he opens with vampire fangs......seriously, this is what girls are into?? I don't know.....
5. It's TRAILER TIME (Jersey Shore reference, see I'm cool?)
Hitting the YouTube is an extended Super 8 trailer (it's amazing and deserves it's own feature article, which is coming tomorrow). Also worth looking at is Cars 2 trailer and Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 (yawn)!
