Having watched the originals as a teen, I loved the whole feel and cult element of these films (and still do), so I will definitely be heading to see this one.
Here's the red-band trailer for it. Be warned, if you're in anyway not a horror fan and are squeamish, don't watch it!
There are plans for a sequel already in motion, as well as a sequel to the original Army of Darkness (YAY!) AND even a 7th cross-over film. I look forward to this.
Hot Tub Time Machine was a comedy from 2010 which revolved around 4 friends travelling back to 1986 in a hot tub....time machine. Yeah, I don't know either. Although it was no Back to the Future or FAQ About Time Travel (trust me, it's brilliant), HTTM had it's moments. Plus....you know, time travel. Today at WonderCon (Another nerd..."imagineer" convention), star of HTTM Craig Robinson, told ComingSoon.net that a sequel is beginning filming in June. This can only be good news!
Speaking of Craig Robinson and WonderCon, he's there promoting This Is The End. This comedy is going to be good. In a nutshell it's a bunch of actors playing themselves at a party in James Franco's house when the apocalypse hits. It will have the likes of James Franco (of course), Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel, Michael Cera, even Emma Watson and Rihanna! That last link was done on purpose. I still believe Rihanna is just Will Smith in a wig. Still would though.
Due for a June release, this will no doubt be the comedy of the summer. There will no doubt be plenty more trailers for this, but I will avoid as to not spoil it for myself!
Speaking of reboots of 1980s movies, was anyone else a fan of the National Lampoon's, John Hughes written, Harold Ramis directed classic Vaction movies? Of course you were! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, sort it out. Watch them now. They're classics.
In the event you haven't, they're about a family called the Griswolds, who drive cross-country (the states in the first and best one), for a holiday. This isn't as simple as it sounds, and the trouble that ensues is hilarious. Chevy Chase is best known for his role as head of the family, Clark Griswold. It's been reported that Chase is now reprising his role as this character in an upcoming sequel/remake of the same name, with Ed Helms (The Hangover & The Office) at the....ehem....Helm....
Helms will play the son of the originals, "Rusty", who is now all grown up and is planning a vacation with his wife Christina Applegate and their family.
Chase is a comedy legend, starring in classics such as Caddyshack , Fletch, Three Amigos and more recently comedy gold Community. Given Chase's comedy background, one would hope his casting is a wise choice, and will in no doubt help promote the movie to Vacation fans. But given recent reports his attitude and treatment for other cast members leaves a lot to be desired. I do however, hope I'm wrong and he manages to bring back the classic Griswold charm.
And sure as long as it's got this, it'll be grand:
