Trailer Thursday

It's been a while.

Again.

Apologies. I will make an effort to update at least once a week from now on. I promise. Not that anybody is reading anyways. As it is Thursday, I figured I'd use some alliteration and use Thursdays for trailers! Creative, I know.

So, let's see what new trailers have hit the web lately and when said films will be released!

First up, The Wolverine.

This long awaited trailer finally graced us with it's presence today. Based on the X-Mean comic book character Wolverine (Hugh Jackman),  is found in modern day Japan. He's in an unfamiliar world, fighting samurai and is dealing with his own immortality. It'll be good. Out 26th of July.

This next trailer really kicks ass. Yep. It's Kick-Ass 2. Sorry. I couldn't help it.

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist are back for the sequel to the 2010 movie. After the events of the first movie, a wave of new "super" heroes have arrived on the scene, led by Jim Carey's Colonel Stars and Stripes. A difference is being made, until the world's first supervillian "The Mother F*&!er" (a soured Red Mist) assembles his own evil team to seek revenge on Kick-Ass and Hit Girl. This is due in cinemas on the 16th of August.

Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa.

Nothing really needs to be said for this one, except: Back of the net. You either love or hate Partridge. I for one love it. This one also has a release of the 16th of August. So I'll be in the cinema pretty much all day if anybody is looking for me.

They never are.

Out in the next few weeks though, we have this lot:

Of course, Iron Man 3.

We last saw billionaire genius Tony Stark in the 2012 smash (pun intended) Avengers Assemble. He is now back in his stand-alone franchise Iron Man. The threequel sees him facing a new enemy in the form of terrorist the Mandarin. After his world is torn apart, Stark must set out on an excruciating journey to rebuild from scratch. This will hit Irish cinemas on the 26th of April (a whole week before the US). YEOW!

*Groans* It's back from the dead. The franchise that just won't die (well one of them....) Scary Movie V

As usual, it parodies the top horror films of the past 12 months, in style that is getting less and less comedic. They've somehow managed to sign Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan to this. Begs the question, were they paid with money or.....substances. To mix things up a bit, they didn't bother even phoning up usual main Anna Faris to offer her her role of Cindy. Instead, opting for Ashley Tisdale. Probably the cheapest option really. It'll still make money though.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but next is Dark Skies.

Out nearly 2 months in the States, it's finally hitting Irish screens on the 3rd of April. From the Producer of Paranormal Activity, Insidious and Sinister, comes another spooky domestic disturbance. But instead of ghosts and demons, we are now facing ALIENS! Like I said, not everyone's cup of tea. This does however have the potential a great "Paul" movie. I will enjoy it!

For the kids:

I swear.

Despicable Me 2!!!!

28th of June (Another week earlier than the US. I am liking this trend!!). Take note. Of course it is the follow up to the 2010 animated comedy, which I found surprisingly good. I am serioulsy looking forward to this one.

I can't mention animation movies, without taking about the eagerly anticipated Monsters University.

Okay, so it's a prequel not a sequel. We won't see any Boo. (Boooooooo) But it is Pixar. And it's Monsters Inc. This will be fantastic. Don't ask me why, but we get this nearly THREE WEEKS after the US, on the 12th of July. I honestly don't know what they're playing at.

Other trailers that deserve a mention are of course Man Of Steel and Star Trek Into Darkness.
Click the name to be brought to the trailer on youtube. I can't risk having them on my page, for fear of giving into temptation and finally watching them. I am keeping myself in the dark for these two. I have somehow managed to avoid every bit of info and trailer for both films, and I plan on keeping it that way!

Updating soon.
Paul
